UpCode 5 years on...

Having first designed the logo and brand name for UpCode (a mobile code reading, systems and solutions company) around 5 years ago - it's amazing to see how the snowball is now growing.

This all began in Japan even longer ago with a company called 3GVision using the ow all familiar QR codes. UpCode was one of the first European companies to develop and devise the programs and systems that took simple 'decoding' to interactive cross media multi functionality using 2D codes read by mobile.

As is the way with new technologies - now in Europe what we were doing 5 years ago is now gathering pace. But, there's much more functionality than people currently realise as they set about using 2D + mobile.

The next year will see this technology bed in and get established - let's hope that the wise look to the key developers for end solutions, there are few of them but these are the companies that created the know how and they have the real 'know what' you can do with it.

These include UpCode (of course :-) http://www.upcode.com and 3GVision (aka i-nigma) NeoMedia, Scanbuy and a later entrant, Beetagg.

Look out for 2D in print on TV and on packaging throughout 2010 - things are hotting up!
